No, the socket includes a built-in filtered socket to minimise the effect of locally connected noisy devices.

Electrically noisy devices will impact the available Powerline bandwidth if they are plugged into an unfiltered socket which is close to a Powerline device.  It is therefore advisable  to plug any electrically noisy devices directly in the Powerline Socket power socket so that the noise can be filtered out rather than into a normal power outlet that is within 1 metre of the Powerline Socket.
